Where we are coming from
Noplr is independent and ad-free. We reserve the right to use our discretion to keep the site welcoming, and we are explicitly not neutral about harassment and bigotry. Members are not expected to share any particular opinion, and disagreement is not banned. We do not ban disagreement, and members are not expected to share any particular opinion.
Not allowed anywhere on the site
- Harassment and abuse: targeting people with insults, intimidation, stalking, or repeated unwanted contact.
- Hate: attacking or demeaning people for who they are, including race, ethnicity, nationality, religion, caste, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability or age.
- Threats and incitement to violence, including encouraging self-harm.
- Doxxing: sharing private information about someone without their consent.
- Spam and manipulation: unsolicited promotion, fake accounts, vote or reaction manipulation, and scams.
- Illegal content, including any sexual content involving minors, which we report to the authorities.
- Impersonation of people or organizations.
What groups decide for themselves
Each group may set its own rules about topic, tone, who can join, what can be posted and how strictly it is enforced, as long as those rules stay inside this policy. Group administrators and moderators enforce them. Members can report content to the group's moderators, and the group's decisions are recorded in its audit log.
How the operator uses its discretion
- Site staff act when content breaks this policy, when a report concerns a group's own staff or the group itself, or when a group cannot or will not deal with a serious problem.
- We can remove content, suspend or close accounts, or take down groups. Every site-level action is recorded.
- When we suspend an account, we tell the person why and they can ask for a review through the contact address.
- We apply this policy to ideas and behaviour, not to people's identity or the side they take in a lawful debate.
Reporting
Use "Report" on any post or comment. For anything else, including a group or a profile, use the abuse address.
